About us

ISSAC provides supported living, enablement, homecare and respite services throughout the North-East. ISSAC supports people to live a fulfilling life both from the comfort and familiarity of their own homes, and out in the community.

A range of service users are supported by ISSAC, from children through to the elderly, at all stages of their life's journey. Those supported include individuals with learning and physical disabilities and acute emotional needs.

From the first moment of meeting, ISSAC's experienced personnel work closely with service users and their families, to understand their needs and how best they can be aided.

Our Services

ISSAC provides supported living, enablement, homecare and respite services across the North-East, supporting people to live fulfilling lives both at home and in the community. Service users range from children to the elderly, including individuals with learning or physical disabilities and those with emotional needs.

ISSAC's mission is to equip service users with skills and resources for fulfilling lives, offering help with life skills, confidence building, and self-esteem. From the first meeting, ISSAC's experienced staff collaborate with service users and their families to understand needs and provide tailored support.

Personal care is available for those facing challenges due to illness or disability. ISSAC is committed to fostering independence, continuity of support, and positive relationships. Staff expertise is wide-ranging and adaptable to individual needs.

Enablement

We're passionate about creating independent and fulfilled lives for our individuals. Our carers help individuals to thrive in the community by learning and mastering life skills, help maximise well-being and happiness.

Homecare

We work with those who have additional needs, to allow them to stay at home in comfortable and familiar surroundings. We offer personal care for people who are encounter difficulty either through illness, disability or frailty.

Respite Care

Respite Care provides trusted support so families can take a well-earned break, knowing their loved ones are in safe hands. Whether for a few hours, days or longer – we're here. Caring for others starts with caring for you too.

Training

Training is critical to ensuring that ISSAC provides the very best standard of care. What separates ISSAC from other companies is the commitment to deliver first-class training in the role so everyone feels confident in their work.

ISSAC seek to create and nurture specialists in care, investing heavily in people through training. This provides carers with the skills to offer the very best support to service users. Training is both office and vocationally based, all through qualified, experienced trainers working face-to-face with learners. ISSAC ensures that all employees are constantly learning, evolving and developing and their talent.

Management continually considers new ideas and approaches to develop capabilities and grow as a company. Innovation has been key to the success achieved thus far, and will play an increasingly vital role in the future of the business.

Staff are trained to be adaptable, to suit the needs of the service users they work with, ensuring any training is customised and always kept current. Communities

ISSAC plays an important role in its community. The organisation works in partnership with the local authority, CQC and other regional partners and stakeholders. ISSAC works closely with local leisure and activity providers around the region, offering service users the opportunity to experience a great day out, get active or attend classes. ISSAC personnel love the community that they work in and are passionate about helping service users to maximise their role within that community.

Alnwick Garden

Alnwick Garden is a modern and distinctive garden offering fresh air and wildlife all around. Attractions abound such as through the intriguing Bamboo Labyrinth, Poison Garden and Grand Cascade. The garden changes with the seasons, ensuring a unique experience every day. Its history is preserved in the classic Ornamental Garden and the enchanting Rose Garden.

What's the Craic

What's the Craic is a talking group for men to combat modern challenges such as loneliness, stress and depression through dialogue, camaraderie and togetherness. It meets twice weekly in Blyth and is free to all.

Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre

Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre is an excellent spot for observing wildlife such as birds, butterflies and squirrels. The wildlife varies with the seasons, ensuring that there is always something to see. Located by the beach, it provides stunning views of Druridge Bay.

Alligator Klub

The Alligator Klub is a monthly nightclub for adults (18+) with learning difficulties and their carers. Held on the last Friday of each month, it features live DJs, open mic nights and a welcoming social atmosphere. In 2021, it celebrated its 10th anniversary, highlighting its impact in the community.

Ability 2 Play

Ability 2 Play provides inclusive sports and activities for children and young adults with learning and/or physical disabilities. Established in 2006, it offers weekly sports sessions, holiday programmes, youth groups and bowling.
